Instagram OAuth Setup
Requires a Facebook Developer App
Go to developers.facebook.com → Create App → Add Instagram Graph API product. Set redirect URI to your backend URL.

User visits your OAuth URL Your backend redirects to Instagram's login page. User grants permissions.

Code exchange on backend Instagram returns a code. Your server exchanges it for a long-lived access token — never expose this in frontend.

Token stored securely Store token server-side, encrypted. Long-lived tokens last ~60 days — your system auto-refreshes before expiry.

After publishing, your system fetches metrics via GET /{media-id}/insights?metric=reach,likes_count,comments_count,engagement every 6 hours. Insights are only available for Business/Creator accounts. Data may take up to 24h to appear after posting.
